My name's Joseph and I'm an undergrad student at The University of Melbourne. I love to read a gripping and original horror short story or novel. My favourites have to be by Edgar Allan Poe and I adore Anne Rice's "Interview with the Vampire." Let's not forget Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" and Bram Stoker's "Dracula". I would definitely say I'm more interested in gothic and supernatural horror although I enjoyed the gore in Bret Easton Ellis' "American Psycho" - that is a brilliant book. Horror films on the other hand seem to be contrived and they make me laugh not scream. In saying that I do like "The Excorcist" and "Paranormal Activity." What I hope to do is write some terrifying and freakish horror stories and see how everyone else does it.
