Shane Jiraiya Cummings

Shane Jiraiya Cummings is a Ditmar award-winning writer and editor, Vice President of the Australian Horror Writers Association, and an Active member of the US Horror Writers Association. He is the Director of the Australian Shadows Award, has been a judge for the Award twice, and the Convenor of the Aurealis Award Horror panel in 2007.

Shane has had more than sixty short stories published in Australia, USA, and Europe, and his stories have been translated into Spanish, Polish, and French. Shane's latest releases include Shards (Brimstone Press, 2009), a flash fiction collection illustrated by Andrew J McKiernan, and the dark fantasy novella Phoenix and the Darkness of Wolves (Damnation Books, 2009).

ShardsShane is the Managing Editor of HorrorScope, and he has edited a number of publications including Shadow Box, Black Box, and Black: Australian Dark Culture Magazine. Shane was the Guest Editor (with Angela Challis) of Midnight Echo #2.

Shane is currently completing a series of Japanese fantasy novels that chronicle the adventures of Yamabushi Kaidan, and which are an expansion of his Aurealis- and Ditmar Award nominated novelette "Yamabushi Kaidan and the Smoke Dragon". He is also working on a paranormal fiction trilogy.
